Literary Elements Setting- is where the story takes place. Conflict- the problem in the story. Man vs. man- a conflict between characters in a book or short story. Man vs. nature- human against a animal, such as bear, lion, tiger, or snake. Rising action- when something major happens in the story. Climax- when the action rises to the highest point. Falling action- when the action is being resolved. Resolution- when the conflict is fully resolved. Point of view- the perspective from which the story is told. First person point of view- the point of view in which the narrator is a character and uses “I” to tell his or her story. Mood- the a character feels. Tone- the way the narrator or character voice sounds. Character- a person in the story. Plot- is a sequence or happenings of events in a story.
